How did the Simply Mobilizing International Conference impact the Canadians who attended?
Here is Caleb's story about his experience at the Simply Mobilizing International Conference, and how it is impacting his life today!
To be honest, I had no real reason to go to the Simply Mobilizing Global Conference, but I’m very glad that I did.
Before the conference, I had no previous experience with Simply Mobilizing (SM) and had never even heard of the organization. I was invited to go to the conference by my mother, who had taken the Kairos course and wanted to get involved with SM. I know everything happens for a reason, so I came into the conference looking to be led by God, with an open mind, eager to discover the reason he wanted me there.
The conference had a big impact on me in multiple ways.
- It was great to learn about SM and all the good work that is being done around the world through the organization.
- I was introduced to all these different resources such as Kairos, The Unfinished Story for Youth, Empowered to Influence etc., which can help me on my walk with God.
- While there, I was able to form meaningful connections with people within Canada and from around the world who share that same passion for mobilizing and living a life on mission with God.
I always had an interest in mobilizing, but now I have the tools, connections, and knowledge to truly do it.
Throughout the conference, God was telling me that this was where he wanted me and that I needed to get involved in SM. I have now become a facilitator to help launch “The Unfinished Story for Youth” course in Canada.
Personally, it was also a good reminder that God is always in control and that he has a plan for everything. Coming into the conference, I must admit I was nervous because I didn’t know why I was there, I didn’t know anyone there, and I was one of the youngest people there. I would use my experience as a reminder to anyone to just walk through faith with God even if you don’t know what will happen.
Overall, the conference was such a lovely experience, and if I could do it all over again, I would!
